Important Information Regarding the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

If you have air conditioning or hot air heating you will have an air filtration system or air filter. During this time of uncertainty, it is important that this filter gets replaced or sprayed with Lysol disinfectant spray at least once a week. Your air filter is a location that bacteria, virus and mold collect on. An added benefit would be while the filter is removed to put your thermostat’s fan setting to the on position and spray the Lysol into the grill or duct for 10 seconds, this will help disperse the spray throughout the duct system and air around as well. Also, research suggests that increased humidification has a large impact on reducing the transmission of some airborne virus, as will the level of filtration within a ventilation system.

We strongly suggest that sometime prior to the summer to get your  air conditioning coil, and condensate pan chemically cleaned.

American Society for heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers came out with guidance related to COVID-19. It recommends a focus on:

• Supplying clean air to susceptible occupants
• Containing contaminated air and/or exhaust it to the outdoors
• Diluting the air in the space with clean and filtered outdoor air
• Cleaning the air within a room

There are some items that do in fact help kill bacterial, virus and other vocs in the air within the home and these are referred to UV lights. Please see below for more information,
